How to designate ClearHaul as your Transportation Service Provider
FMCSA's Motus system has an official way to let a filing service help with your registrations: the Transportation Service Provider (TSP) designation. It takes a few minutes in your own account, you never share your Login.gov password with anyone, and you can undo it whenever you want.

The steps, in your Motus account
- Log in to Motus through FMCSA's registration page with your Login.gov account.
- Open the company account linked to your USDOT number.
- Go to the registration management / authorized relationships section.
- Choose "Designate a Transportation Service Provider".
- Enter ClearHaul's Filer Number (from the box above) and click Search.
- Check that the company shown is ClearHaul, then click Designate.
- That sends us a notification. We accept the designation from our own Motus account, usually within hours, and email you when it's active.
What happens after
Once the designation is active, we can prepare and submit your filings through FMCSA's official channel, no password sharing, no workarounds. Everything we file still shows in your own account, and we send written confirmation once the federal record reflects each filing. If you ever want to end the relationship, remove the designation in the same section of Motus and it's done.

▸What is a Transportation Service Provider (TSP)?
It's FMCSA's official way for a carrier to authorize a company like ClearHaul to help with registration filings in Motus. The designation happens inside your own Motus account, using the provider's Filer Number, and FMCSA controls what a designated provider is allowed to do.
▸Do I have to give ClearHaul my Login.gov password?
No, and you never should, to us or anyone. That's the point of the TSP designation: FMCSA built an official channel so providers can assist without ever touching your login. Any company that asks for your Login.gov password is doing it wrong.
▸What can ClearHaul do once designated?
We can assist with registration activities on your account, like preparing and submitting your MCS-150 or registration updates, subject to FMCSA's permissions and rules. You still see everything in your own account, and we confirm every filing with you in writing.
▸Can I remove the designation later?
Yes. You manage designations in the same section of Motus where you created one, and you can remove a provider at any time. It's your account and your registration, always.
▸Does designating a TSP cost anything?
No. The designation itself is free, it's a built-in Motus feature. You only ever pay for filings you order from us, at the prices published on our pricing page.
