ClearHaul

THE HERO PACKAGE · EVERYTHING TO RUN LEGALLY

Get your trucking authority — the whole stack, priced in the open

Starting a trucking company means a pile of registrations with hard deadlines and real consequences: USDOT number, operating authority (your MC number), BOC-3, Clearinghouse, a drug-testing consortium, UCR. Do them out of order and your authority stalls; skip one and your first audit fails.

We file all of it, in the right order, and show you a tracker for every piece — including the federal 21-day protest period other services hideuntil you're already angry.

Not sure you need authority at all? Take the 1-minute quiz — private carriers and exempt haulers don't, and we'd rather tell you that than take your money.

$945 all-in for a one-truck operation (plus consortium)

Filed within 2 business days. Federal timeline to active authority is 3–4 weeks — including FMCSA's mandatory 21-day protest period nobody tells you about. We track every step.

How it works

  1. 1

Tell us about your operation (about 5 minutes)

Plain-language questions — what you haul, where, what trucks. If you have any existing registration, we pull your federal record so you don't retype what the government already knows.

  2. 2

    We check for landmines first

Duplicate USDOT registrations, name mismatches with IRS records, wrong operation classification — the rookie errors that stall applications for weeks. Fixed before anything is filed.

  3. 3

We file the full stack in the right order

USDOT + authority application in Motus, BOC-3 designation, Clearinghouse registration, consortium enrollment, UCR — and a clean handoff to your insurance agent for the BMC-91 filing only they can make.

  4. 4

You watch the tracker; we chase everyone

Every stage updates by email: published in the Register, protest period countdown, insurance on file, authority GRANTED — verified in the federal record, with the documents in your vault.

The honest timeline

  1. Day 0Package filed: USDOT + authority application + BOC-3 + Clearinghouse + consortium + UCR
  2. Day 1–2Application published in the FMCSA Register
  3. Day 2–2321-day protest period (federal law — nobody can skip it)
  4. In parallelYour insurer files BMC-91 proof of insurance (we chase them)
  5. Day ~23–28Authority GRANTED — we verify it in the federal record before celebrating

Straight answers

How do I get an MC number?

You apply through FMCSA's Motus system ($300 government fee per authority type), get published in the FMCSA Register, wait out a 21-day protest period, and your authority is granted only after your insurance company files proof of coverage (BMC-91) and a BOC-3 process agent designation is on file. Total timeline is typically 3–4 weeks.

Why does it take 3–4 weeks? Other services promised faster.

Nobody can skip the federal 21-day protest period — it's law, not a service level. Services that promise 'authority in days' are hiding the timeline until after you've paid. We show you the whole pipeline up front and track every stage.

What insurance do I need before authority is granted?

For general freight, $750,000 in liability is the usual minimum (some cargo requires $1M–$5M). Your insurance company files the BMC-91 electronically — you can't file it yourself. We coordinate the handoff and watch the federal record until it lands.

What if my application is dismissed or rejected?

If a filing we prepared isn't accepted, our service fee comes back to you, 100%. Government fees are FMCSA's and are non-refundable once paid — we say that before checkout, not after. The most common dismissal cause — insurance never filed within 90 days — is exactly what our tracking exists to prevent.

Do I need all of this? What if I already have some pieces?

Take the free authority quiz first — it tells you exactly what you need and don't. Already have a USDOT number or a consortium? We price the package without those pieces; you'll see it itemized before paying.

New Authority Package

Filing accepted or your service fee back, 100%. Government fees are non-refundable once paid — we tell you that before you pay, not after.

We will never call you unless you ask us to. No phone sales. No robocalls. Ever.
