Form 2290 e-file — because your plates are waiting on that Schedule 1
The heavy vehicle use tax filing has one deliverable that matters: the IRS-stamped Schedule 1. No Schedule 1, no apportioned plates, no running. We e-file through an IRS-authorized provider and get it back to you typically the same day the IRS accepts.
The tax itself — calculate yours free — goes to the IRS and is the same everywhere. Our fee is $49, next to it, labeled.

How it works
- 1
VINs, weights, first-use month
That's the intake. We validate VINs and check your EIN's age — the silent 2290 killer for new companies.
- 2
E-filed through an IRS-authorized provider
Form 2290 must be transmitted by an IRS-authorized e-file provider — we handle it end to end and show the tax and our fee separately at checkout.
- 3
Stamped Schedule 1 to your inbox and vault
Typically same-day on IRS acceptance. Forward it to your IRP office or pull it from the vault at plate time — it's never lost in an email thread again.
Straight answers
▸When is Form 2290 due?
August 31 for vehicles on the road in July (the tax year runs July 1–June 30). Put a truck in service later in the year and the deadline is the last day of the month after its first-use month, with the tax prorated.
▸How do I get my stamped Schedule 1?
E-file and the IRS returns the stamped Schedule 1 electronically — typically the same day the return is accepted. That document is your proof of payment, and your state requires it for IRP (apportioned) plates.
▸How much tax will I owe?
Between $100 and $550 per truck per year depending on taxable gross weight — it's a fixed IRS table nobody can discount. Our free calculator gives your exact number, including logging rates and low-mileage suspension.
▸Why was my 2290 rejected with a brand-new EIN?
The IRS e-file system can't see EINs issued in roughly the last two weeks. New company, new EIN, instant rejection — it's a timing issue, not an error. We check EIN age up front and schedule the retry so your plates aren't hostage to it.
